Karen Kwon is the research and special projects editor at Science News. Previously, she was the associate editor of Optics & Photonics News and a 2020 AAAS Mass Media Fellow at Scientific American. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, she has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Columbia University and a master’s degree in journalism from New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program.
